 A time when I had difficulty writing to the world was a time I was texting a new friend of mind. I was talking to him because we had just become friends and I started making jokes thinking that he would laugh, but he took them seriously because he didn't know me well enough to know that I joke around a lot. I assumed that he would just laugh and say something back to me and that would be that, but he got confused and kinda mad, so I had to clarify and I told him I was just kidding.  I tried constructing my language to meet my audience, but he just didn't get it. I could have waiting longer until we were better friends so that he would understand what I meant.
