In this article it points out a lot of things that are wrong
with the way that young women and girl look at their bodies. Something I found
very surprising Is how young a lot of girls start to worry about their bodies.
In this piece it states that a large amount of girls had been on a diet before
the age of 10. It’s really an issue because what they see on magazines are not
the same people that are seen in real life. Things like Photoshop are used to
alter the picture a great amount. This isn’t just with their bodies either it
is also with their faces, anything in a picture can be altered if Photoshop is
being used. I think keeping your weight and the way you look in tact is
important because this country is very obese, but I also think it is very bad
for these girls self-esteem and how they feel so badly about themselves at this
young age. It all has to do with the way that guys look at us and think, and it
is not like this in every country but I think that it has a lot to do with this
culture. It was a great public article because now that people are reading it,
it can be a source to help stand against women and girl feeling this way.

Technology Dependence
The
first developed smart phone was created so that we could connect with certain
cultures and societies. In ways it was an extremely successful idea, but in a
lot of other ways it unsuccessful. The thing that had botched and seems to be
the most evident is the group of friends that are apparently supposed to be
converting are all on their phones. The amount of interaction has decreased a
huge amount. It's kind of a scary to think that were all so attached to a piece
of technology that we can't put it down. It seems even in class
that what on the phone is more important than paying attention.
The way that we communicate is
changing radically and it’s not being changed for the upright. Communication is
our way of making and maintaining relationships. Technology is on the other
hand a way that we’ve been able to stay in contact with people that we couldn’t
have before. If talking in person though they most likely don’t have their
undivided attention. Since smart phones have taken a role the interest in
holding a relationship with people and socializing face to face have decreased
a hefty amount.
Our social skills are significantly fading.
Everyone is effected the same way with it though even if they think they’re
not. They probably just have a much better way to control how much it should be
used and are really less attached. The people that are like that are severely
decreasing though. The way that people make friends anymore is over social
media, which is okay at times until it comes to the face to face contact. The
process of making new friends seems to just be awkward and daunting anymore for
a lot of people.
Technology may have been the way to
help our world join, but it is instantaneously responsible for a rapid loss of
relationships. Our focuses have shifted, instead of having the concern of a
relationship were just worried about what new piece of technology we can purchase
next. We take pride in being technologically savvy and it isn’t for the better,
it just makes us seem obsessive and that is becoming to be true. This is
something that doesn’t seem to be changed either, but instead just get worse.

Technology Dependence
In this article the
author argues that technology is one of the best things that has happened in
this generation but I see it a lot different than that:
I remember when I was
young and the internet wasn’t something used on a daily basis, cell phones were
used for calling, and apple wasn’t even a thing yet. I find technology to be
very useful, but I also think it’s extremely damaging. When I was younger I
didn’t have a cell phone and I knew how to have fun with my friends without
using technology. Kids now don’t even know what going outside and having fun is
anymore. Most kids are receiving cell phones by ages as young as 10 years old.
If a child gets a cell phone at an early age like that there is more chance
that they will become much more dependent on it. Technology is now the new way
of entertainment for kids anymore. This is becoming a major social issue as well.
This seems silly but a lot of relationships don’t end in face to face anymore
they rely on their phones to do it for them. Society has changed so much that
something that seems so necessary to discuss face to face is almost completely disregarded,
this seems like the normal thing to do now days. Using technology for things
work related is acceptable in many cases. Jobs all around the nation rely on
the internet, so if the internet would be down, work would be over for the day.
These new technologies have become something people all around the world have invested
their money into, and almost no technology is cheap. People pay ridiculous prices
for certain types of technology, and sometimes even up to eight hundred dollars
for a cell phone alone. I’m not completely against technology, but relying on something
that we would in any case have to go without would be a complete inconvenience
to most of us. If something like your cell phone were to break I’m almost
completely sure you wouldn’t be calling many people because all of that contact
information is stored in the cell phone. If something were to go wrong with the internet,
or just technology in general the world would become complete chaos, even if amount
of time was a total of twenty four hours. The world needs to become less dependent
on technology.

The hardest time that I had writing to the world would most definitely be when I was assigned my first research paper in high school. Research papers are supposed to be an influential writing on something that had been in interest to you. I had changed the topic at least five times, this is because I had to find something I knew I could write a lot of things about. Finding a topic I knew I could talk about made the process of writing the paper so much easier. Since this had been my first research paper I knew it wasn't going to be an easy assignment. In my writing I wrote about equal right, I made the assumption that since we're all human beings that nothing should be different among one another for the reason that it's completely unfair to be treated any differently. The assumptions I made were reasonable to myself, but harder to support when doing research because this was more of an opinion than they were facts. I then had to change the topic to gay marriage, this then resulted in finding a lot more information to back it up. To make sure that the audience expectations and assumptions were met I made sure not to include just the facts but insert opinions from people all over the nation. Gay marriage in this case though was more of a government and political issue, so I also made sure that the law was clear. I think that the assumptions and expectations were very clear depending on the reader.
